What is a Nose bonk? WIP
The “nose bonk” skate trick is a quick, stylish move where the front of the skateboard taps an obstacle—usually with the front truck—before rolling away with control and flow. It’s loud, playful, and deeply rooted in street skating culture.
This trick appeared in the late ’80s and early ’90s, evolving organically from skateboarding itself—not from BMX or any other discipline. It’s a pure skateboarding invention, born from the creativity of skaters exploring the streets with evolving board shapes and new ideas.
Unlike the Ollie Nosebone—an aerial variation invented by Rodney Mullen—the nose bonk involves direct contact with an obstacle. And no, it has nothing to do with the creepy British TV character “Noseybonk.” This is skateboarding, not nightmare fuel.
Nosebonk isn’t just a name—it’s the energy I wanted to capture with this project: simple, bold, and 100% skate-driven.
👉 I’m working on a deeper article exploring the history, variations, and cultural impact of this trick.
